My hope of attending one more WordCamp before the end of the year was realized when WordCamp Louisville invited me to come to their December 4th event. I am very excited to attend and speak at their very first WordCamp which means that 4 out of the 6 WordCamp’s I’ve been to this year will have been firsts. They’ve doubled the excitement by asking me to present two sessions! I can’t wait to meet online friends and make new ones. If you have a chance to come, you won’t be sorry; they have a great speaker lineup!
Custom Post Types & Taxonomies
I presented on this topic for the first time at WordCamp Birmingham. I’ve learned even more about them since then, and will be adding that knowledge to this presentation. I’ll also talk about changes coming in WordPress 3.2 and how Custom Post Types differ from the new Post Formats that are coming in 3.1.
Designing for WordPress
This is a new topic for me, but I think it will be a great topic. There’s still a lot of people out there that put WordPress into a “blog only” box, and don’t realize all of the possibilities there are for creative layouts and functionalities. We’ll talk about starting in Photoshop with a blank canvas and take it down to how coding and programming the theme works as well.
Sponsorship
I am looking for financial help to make this trip happen. I would love to wear and/or pass out your company’s swag, and I’ll even take donations from individuals that would like to help out. The camp is in 3 weeks so contact me today if you’re interested!
